A guide for your trusted person

Someone named you their trusted person on deadkey.net — someone they trust to access their information if they become incapacitated or pass away. Here's what to do with the paper they gave you.

What the Recovery Sheet is

The paper you were given is a Recovery Sheet. It has an email address, an 8-character code, and — in most cases — a printed codebook: a table of 100 positions, each holding a digit or character. Keep it somewhere safe.

If the owner dies or becomes incapacitated

Go to deadkey.net/trigger and enter the email address and code exactly as printed on your Recovery Sheet.

The 10-day countdown

Entering those details starts a 10-day countdown — nothing is released immediately. The owner is notified right away and can cancel with one click if they're safe. If they don't cancel within 10 days, the information is released to you.

After 10 days

If the countdown completes, you'll get an email with a list of two-digit coordinates. Look each one up, in order, on the codebook printed on your Recovery Sheet to read off the secret.
