Leave a key to your digital life
Give a trusted person the means to reach your accounts after you're gone — without handing over your credentials today. A single paper is all they need.
example: a phone PIN
Never leaves your hands.
You keep this on paper.
Encrypted coordinates only.
Each digit maps to a position in a one-time codebook. We only ever hold the positions — meaningless without the codebook, which lives on paper with your trusted person.
Why deadkey is better
No paperwork, no gatekeeping
Other services require documentation — death certificates, proof of identity — to release your secrets, and may refuse if you're incapacitated or missing. deadkey.net releases on your terms.
Protect anything
deadkey.net works with any software or service — and even the physical world, like phone PINs and safe combinations. You decide what to protect and who to share it with.
Released in days, not months
Once activated, your loved ones get access in just a few days — not the weeks or months other services take.
What we can and cannot see
We never see your secret
All cryptographic operations run in your browser. Our server stores only encrypted coordinates — meaningless without your trusted person's codebook.
Contact details are held only during an active trigger
Your email (and phone, if provided) stay encrypted until a trusted person actually triggers a countdown, then are wiped within 10 days.
Your payment is not linked to your record
Payment and record data are kept separate, with no shared identifier.
Read the full security model — see the FAQ for common questions, or our guide to what happens to your passwords and crypto when you die.
Pricing
A one-time payment. No subscription. Each record is valid for three years.
Deadkey record
$3.00
one-time, for 3 years
- Up to two trusted people included
- Protect a PIN, code, or password with a codebook
- Email notifications during the countdown

Try a demo first — it creates a real deadkey, valid for 15 days, to test the functionality.
Tokens expire 90 days after purchase if unused. Once a record is created, no refund is available — the record cannot be identified without breaking anonymity and the service has been rendered. See the full refund policy.
Did someone give you a Recovery Sheet?
If someone gave you a Recovery Sheet and they have died or can no longer manage their own affairs, you can start the release process here. You will need the sheet in front of you — and there is no rush, the trigger itself never expires.
